Throwback Thursday: Iconic Bridges Part 2

Hello, and welcome back to our Iconic Bridges series. In the first part, we talked about many bridges that all of us know and love. There were so many bridges that I couldn’t just fit all of them into one. In the first one, I only scraped the surface, and today we're going get down to it for a part two and take it back to bridges we all know at the top of our heads.

TWICE - “Touchdown”

Whew, I know you guys heard those vocals. This is a well-known bridge that we all wish we could hear live. “Touchdown” is a B-side off of their EP Page Two, and that EP featured their hit track “Cheer Up.” This bridge showcased the vocal abilities of two members, Jihyo and Nayeon. The high notes are phenomenal and breathtaking. Both members are such strong vocalists, and this bridge made us all sit at the edges of our seats in awe. It’s a fun song with a powerful bridge.

DAY6 - “Shoot Me”

“I’m okay. So if you wanna hurt me, baby just hurt me.” Now I know many of you scream that part when this song is playing, and so have I. On June 26, 2018, “Shoot Me” was released, and many of us have been streaming this song since then. DAY6 is a pop-rock band under JYP Entertainment, and when I tell you it was hard to pick just one DAY6 song — it was a struggle. The bridge in this song will hype up any listener because of the build-up. The emotion you get while listening to this song is empowering and exciting for many listeners to this day.

Red Velvet - “Happiness”

YOU BETTER SING WENDY! This bridge is so much fun and honestly, a joy to sing overall. “Happiness” was released on August 4, 2014, and ever since then, Red Velvet has blossomed and given us absolute bangers every time they have a comeback. This bubbly, high-energy debut brings pure joy to us all, and the bridge shows the versatility of the members. When member Wendy belted those lines it made us all feel like flying. It’s a joyful song that we all will remember.

EXO - “CALL ME BABY”

Now the thing about EXO is that all of their bridges are going to eat. “CALL ME BABY” is one of those songs that everyone knows and loves. This title track was released on March 30, 2015, and man this bridge is just too good. The way they harmonize together and flow together is magnificent. The way they merge into the rap from that iconic vocalization had many of our heads spin. It’s such a well-known track that will always remain top-tier.

NCT Dream - “BOOM”

Heavenly, magical, high-end, and graceful are the many words I can use to describe the bridge of this song. NCT Dream went into that studio and didn’t play around. “BOOM” was released on July 25, 2019, and you guys, this song is so good. In the bridge, members Haechan and Renjun split lines and sing together while sharing the high note. The way they split the note during the belt with each other went together perfectly. One member going higher and the other taking the lower range sound so stunning. It’s a bridge that showcases the members fully, and many of us love to listen to this exciting track over and over again.
