Youngjae Completes the GOT7 Return with Feel-Good Track “Vibin’”

The final member of GOT7 has made his return since the group split from JYP Entertainment. Ahgases have been patiently waiting for Youngjae to join his group members in solo activities, and the time has finally come. Having operated in the past under the moniker Ars, Youngjae is a well-known and talented producer that released his own music on SoundCloud as well as wrote for GOT7. Having not been super active in solo activities before the split, it was somewhat of a mystery on what kind of music we’d get from him. 

“Vibin’” is a feel-good pop track with retro and rock influences that brings the bright and sunny personality of Youngjae to the forefront. The retro-inspired acoustic guitar kicks in at the beginning of the song and, accompanied by the driving beat, makes for an infectiously catchy tune. What adds a bit of a twist to this track is at the chorus when an electric guitar kicks in and brings more of a traditional rock influence to the song. This switch up adds more depth to the song overall and makes it more interesting. The groovy song gives off carefree summer vibes as we transition into fall, reminding listeners to take it easy and have a good time.

The video is pretty simple, with the retro aesthetic taking center stage as shots of Youngjae driving in a vintage Mercedes-Benz are a focal point of the video, along with him dancing in a desert alongside ‘50s-style signs and a pay phone. One of our favorite parts of the performance is the cute duet dance he has with a female backup dancer, which adds to the overall bright atmosphere of the song. Feel-good was the goal, and it certainly hit that.
