Throwback Thursday: Best of 2017! Part 1

We are in the last few days of 2017, and for this week’s Throwback Thursday, we will be looking at some of the best releases of the year! For this particular Throwback Thursday, we will only be looking at the promoted tracks or singles that artists have released throughout the year.

Disclaimer: Songs are listed in no particular order.

“Gashina” - Sunmi

There is no doubt that Sunmi’s “Gashina” is one of the best of 2017. Many fans all over the world simply cannot get enough of this addictive and catchy song. Just recently, Sunmi won the award for “Style of Music” at the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2017 in Hong Kong. We can all agree that Sunmi brought the fire as she made her solo comeback.

“Dramarama” - MONSTA X

It’s been an eventful year for MONSTA X. The boy group embarked on their first world tour as well as earned their first ever music show win this year. “Dramarama” was released this past November and, since its release, has garnered over 10 million views. From the catchy beat and chorus to a storyline that will have you on the edge of your seat, MONSTA X definitely made their mark in 2017.

“Energetic” - Wanna One

Considerably one of the hottest debuts of the year, fans from all over simply cannot get enough of Wanna One. After the conclusion of Produce 101 Season 2, their popularity shot through the roof, with many fans trying to get the chance to see them perform. As they are considered to be a newly-debuted group, countless fans cannot wait to see what’s in store for the Wanna One boys.

“Shangri-La” - VIXX

Since the completion of their trilogy series in 2016, many were wondering when VIXX would make another comeback. Lo and behold, VIXX returned with their addictive R&B-pop hit, “Shangri-La,” earlier this year in May. From the stunning visuals and sharp choreography to their smooth vocals, “Shangri-La” is a song you can’t help but have on repeat. If this song is not in your playlist or music library, you are surely missing out.

“Red Flavor” - Red Velvet

While we are still reeling over how awesome “Peek-A-Boo” from Red Velvet was (and also another best hit of 2017), we simply cannot ignore this refreshing, summer smash song, “Red Flavor.” As soon as the song starts, you can’t help but get up and start dancing along. Who can also deny the cool effects of the Red Velvet members talking with their respective fruits? “Red Flavor” is cute and fun—perfect to jam out to whenever you need to lift your spirits.

“Cherry Bomb” - NCT 127

NCT 127 shook the entire K-Pop community this year with their smash hit, “Cherry Bomb.” The song is a hip-hop, bass-heavy track that makes a big impact. “Cherry Bomb” came in hard and fast with its adrenaline-pumping beat, and NCT 127 really came to prove that they are “the biggest hit on the stage.” Also, let’s not forget that outrageous leg split that the members do as part of the choreography!

“DNA” - BTS

Last but certainly not least for this week’s Throwback Thursday, we cannot forget the most talked about boy group of 2017—who took the entire world by storm—BTS. “DNA” was released in September and, since the release of the music video, has garnered over 204 million views. BTS also had an eventful year with their U.S. television debut, UNICEF campaign, as well as their several daesang awards accumulated within a couple of days. Like the rest of the songs listed for this week, “DNA” is catchy and is a song that you can’t help but put on repeat. BTS continues to impress with each release and “DNA” is another best from the group.
