Throwback Thursday: Summer Setlist Pt. 1

Whether you’re finishing up those semester finals or walking across the stage for graduation, summer is finally here! This week’s Throwback Thursday has some of the best summer hits in the K-Pop industry. Whether played at the beach, poolside, or at other fun occasions, get ready to get on your feet and feel the heat!

"Darling" - Girl's Day

When it comes to summer, it’s all about bright, fun colors as well as no longer having to worry about bundling up in thick clothing. “Darling” by Girl’s Day is the epitome of being summer-ready and having fun with friends. The cute retro-influenced song and music video will definitely put a smile on your face while also leaving you in awe at how the ladies can dance so well in killer heels on a wet floor. Whether it’s having a sleepover, hanging out while washing the car, or even just going out for a party, “Darling” is a hip, funky, and simultaneously addictive track that will start your summer off on a good note!

"Electric Shock" - f(x)

Though “Hot Summer” is the iconic summer song from f(x), another summer release from the girl group is “Electric Shock.” Get ready to be up on your feet and dancing along to this electrifying song. Although the music video features f(x) housed in closed-off sets, the bright colors of the ladies’ outfits mixed with the contrast of the white paneled rooms still gives off the ultimate summer vibe. This is another go-to seasonal song that is definitely one to play at a party or while hanging out with friends.

"Call Me Baby" - EXO

EXO makes their first appearance on Throwback Thursday and it’s for their hip, addictive song and music video for “Call Me Baby.” Once “Call Me Baby” comes on, you know you just have to clear the dance floor to perform the choreography. “Call Me Baby” is a great song for the summer thanks to its catchy beat and lyrics, and not to mention it is the perfect song to play when you’re out for a night on the town with a good group of friends. It’s not your typical summertime song, but while the other tracks listed this week are great to play during the day, “Call Me Baby” is for cooler summer nights.

"Adore U" - SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN rounds up this week with their fun, adorable song “Adore U.” Debuting with this particular track, the original music video is memorable in itself and features several sets that scream summer. However, this week we chose to highlight the special music video where all members switch parts while performing the song on the beaches of Busan (specifically Haeundae). Since this particular music video is set on the beach, it makes it the perfect addition to this Throwback Thursday. Not to mention their fun and playful antics are so energizing that you can’t help but want to go out and have fun on the beach yourself.
