Throwback Thursday: Best of AFTER SCHOOL

It’s been quite some time since we have seen a comeback from Pledis Entertainment’s first girl group, AFTER SCHOOL. This girl group originally debuted in 2009. After going through several member changes, they are considerably the first idol group to implement a graduation system. With members leaving the group left and right, there is no word of if the girl group will be making a comeback any time soon. This week we are looking back at some of the best releases from AFTER SCHOOL.

“Bang!”

AFTER SCHOOL is known for the sexy concepts that they have confidently done in the past. One of their best releases has to be “Bang!” It was one thing that all the ladies looked incredible throughout the music video, but they also took the time to learn how to play the snare drum and did a marching band concept. It is not often you see an idol group master a instrument for their comeback. Even during their comeback stages on music programs, AFTER SCHOOL performed with the drums prior to performing “Bang!”

“Flashback”

“Flashback” happens to be one of their darker concept releases, where AFTER SCHOOL confidently struts their stuff in a high-fashion music video. AFTER SCHOOL is one of the few groups to push the envelope with having such a risqué and bold concept but aside from the fashion and dark mood of the music video, “Flashback” is a catchy and addictive electro-pop song. This particular song would definitely be a smash to play at a party or club.

“Ah!”

Taking it all the way back to their debut music video, “Ah!” introduced these beautiful ladies and how they were definitely a group to look out for in the future. At the time of their debut, there were few girl groups that had done a sexy concept. It was more on the level of innocent and cute concepts that girl groups had pushed for. “Ah!” was definitely the sexy, school girl concept that had a lot of people talking about them and caught the attention of many, not only in South Korea, but internationally as well. Through “Ah!” up until their most recent release, many can see the growth of this girl group.

Honorable Mentions:
