Throwback Thursday: EXID’s Summer Jams

You simply can’t deny the fact that EXID releases some of the most addictive, catchy songs in K-Pop today. Most of their songs are great for the summer and even greater to play during a party. This week’s Throwback Thursday is focused on EXID and some of their summer jams (get ready to add them to you summer playlist if you haven’t already)!

"Hot Pink"

EXID is known for having repetitive lyrics in their songs, which only further establish that catchy hook we all have near and dear to our hearts. “Hot Pink” is no exception and quite the perfect example. Seeing as the title is “Hot Pink,” the music video features a lot of the members’ clothing and other objects laced with hot pink accents. Although there really isn’t anything related to summer going on within the music video, “Hot Pink” definitely heats things up with its undeniably sexy atmosphere. Plus, you can’t help but break out into the signature dance move which includes moving your hips just like the members.

"Up & Down"

“Up & Down” is arguably the group’s most popular song and the one to really catapult their career even further in the limelight. When the release finally garnered public attention, other idols, TV personalities, and fans worldwide simply could not get enough of the song and its accompanying music video. Once again, we’re given another sexy music video with some odd magic elements that might make you tilt your head in question. But the main part of the song is its catchy chorus and the hip/”up and down” dance that the EXID members have made so iconic. This is also EXID’s highest-viewed viral music video so far, with a whopping 83+ million views on YouTube alone.  “Up & Down” is definitely an EXID must-have within your music library and perfect to put on blast during summer (though it’s really a great song to play year-round).

"I Feel Good"

Taking it all the way back to 2012, EXID’s “I Feel Good” is the song to close out this week’s Throwback Thursday. This particular track was released during the experimental electronic period of time within the K-Pop industry, and “I Feel Good” is a perfect example of how much the idol girl group has grown both musically and stylistically. “I Feel Good” is one of their more underrated releases prior to their big blow up with “Up & Down.” It’s a song that must be appreciated, and still as good as ever for the summer. While it doesn’t have the same catchy quality as “Up & Down” and “Hot Pink,” the fact is it’s more than likely to get stuck in your head. You’ll find yourself singing along to it when you least expect it.
