As one of the biggest K-Pop events in the U.S., KCON LA, draws closer, new artists for the lineup have continued to be announced ranging from TWICE to Dynamic Duo. To get attendees prepared for all of the amazing artists at KCON, we wanted to shine a light on some of the groups who will take center stage at the Staples Center next month. That includes IN2IT, MMO & Stone Music Entertainment’s newest boy group that had to overcome incredible odds to be put together.

IN2IT is comprised of contestants who participated in Mnet’s 2016 pre-debut program Boys24. There were over five thousand applicants, but only 27 were selected to proceed in the Boys24 training program. As a contestant, the members of Boys24 had to compete in four teams for a year and six months as a replacement for a valuable training period to debut as IN2IT. During that time, the groups held 260 performances in their own concert hall from 2016 to 2017 before the group’s final lineup was confirmed.

The group debuted in October 26, 2017 with eight members: Yoo Jiahn, Jung Yeontae, Hwang Inho, Han Hyunuk, Lee Inpyo, Kim Sunghyun, Isaac Voo, and Kim Jinsub. After the release of their first single, member Jinsub unfortunately had to leave the group for health issues due to having an inner-ear disorder. Their name, IN2IT, has multiple meanings, including the phrase “into it” and “intuit,” which is to show that fans will fall for the group’s “intuitive” charms.

The Debut: “Amazing”

IN2IT’s debut single, “Amazing,” is the perfect summer song. Released on October 26, 2017, “Amazing” is a blend of trap and pop genres with an upbeat, tropical melody. The song is very similar in style to tracks like “Pretty Pretty” by PENTAGON and “Don’t Wanna Cry” by SEVENTEEN, so fans of those groups will likely be endeared by IN2IT’s charming, addictive sound. The music video for “Amazing” was filmed at Kolsai Lake National Park in Kazakhstan a month prior to release, and it features the members on a road trip through the gorgeous mountain ranges to hold a bonfire by Lake Kolsai. This is the only music video to feature member Jinsub. “Amazing” is a strong debut track that highlights the strong vocal and dance skills that IN2IT gained over the course of their year-and-a-half long trainee period together.

The Comeback: “Snapshot”

The group made their first official comeback on April 19, 2018 with the single “Snapshot.” Where “Amazing” was cute and endearing, “Snapshot” is a cool, sensual synthpop song. It’s a darker, more mature concept for IN2IT, but it feels like a fitting transition for the group. It’s good to see the group explore different concepts and sounds in their music, which range from sirens to even an EKG monitor. The music video for “Snapshot” has a unique concept: it’s a fashion show! The members look effortlessly cool as they strut down the runway and give the viewers different dynamic looks. The song’s choreography was created by Bae Wanhee, who also choreographed the dance to MOMOLAND’s iconic track “Bboom Bboom.” The dance features the members voguing, which fits into the fashion show concept perfectly!

Dance Practices

Though they’ve only released two mini-albums so far, IN2IT continues to impress not only with the songs they release but with their dance practices. That includes the group’s Halloween version of their dance practice for “Amazing,” where they all don costumes like a vampire, the Joker, and a pod of peas! Just one watch of their adorable dance practices is enough to fall for a group as charismatic, talented, and fun as IN2IT.
