Sehun & Chanyeol Reassure Us “We Young”
Shawty, we’re really gonna party ‘til the sun down.
After months of waiting since The ElyXiOn [dot] in Seoul, SM Station X 0 finally dropped a studio version of EXO Chanyeol and Sehun’s collaboration track, “We Young!”
The song is as carefree as you’d expect from a title like that. It’s almost like Baekhyun and LOCO’s previous SM Station X 0 track “Young” had a chiller, more upbeat twin. “We Young” speaks to the younger generation, telling them to live in the moment and to maintain a positive attitude despite what may be thrown at them. Its music video is a colorful one, with rotating sets and green screens made to look like the boys are flying through the sky. The track doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is a nice contrast from the aforementioned SM Station X 0 release.
It’s nice to have something to drink up until the (hopefully) upcoming EXO comeback. The boys look happy and healthy, with Chanyeol sporting splotched pink hair for most of the video and Sehun rocking a black, greasy look. It’s also obvious the boys wanted to debut their toned muscles as Sehun’s abs blare through an open leather jacket and Chanyeol’s biceps are exposed in a cut-off top. Clearly, they enjoyed themselves in the process of making the song and the video, as they should when Chanyeol is only now getting more opportunities to sing and Sehun finally has more than three lines.

I actually had the pleasure of seeing “We Young” for the first time at The ElyXiOn [dot] on July 13. It was the first time it was ever performed and it was so fulfilling to see them having just as much fun as they did in the music video. Unfortunately, video was not allowed in the dome, but hopefully it will make an appearance on the concert DVD. Sehun looked really bright and lively, but you could tell he was concentrating really hard to nail the performance. Chanyeol always looks comfortable on the stage. It was definitely a highlight of the concert despite its simplicity compared to the group’s elaborate stages. Now, we wait for the group comeback!
