We Feel so Lucky Listening to A.C.E’s New Collaboration

Five-member boy group A.C.E is back with a collaboration alongside French DJ and producer Hcue in an all-English release titled “I Feel So Lucky.” The song was released on September 14 with the music video posted on Hcue’s VEVO channel on YouTube.

We step away from the powerful dubstep sound that the group has previously shown fans, and instead we get a much sexier concept. Though A.C.E naturally dominates the music video, Hcue has a similarly strong presence throughout. The special effects resemble those used in one of the group’s older films for the song “Callin’,” with vibrant colored filters and floating words all making an appearance once again. The music video adequately highlights the members’ talent in dance and overall performance, feeding us plenty of choreography and individual member shots.

Seeing as this is a global collaboration between a French and Korean artists, it makes sense that the lyrics are in English. Autotune is used for certain portions of the song, but the technique doesn’t overly distort their voices. The song starts off slow, though it only takes a few seconds before the beat drops and we hear the chorus before the first verse. The pace of the song is consistent throughout and does not change much for the duration of the track, which is almost four minutes in length.

A catchy, easy-to-follow chorus means the song is bound to get stuck in your head, but who can say no to having such a good song on repeat?

Though A.C.E is still just a rookie group, the members have utilized their time wisely this first year following their debut, showing they can master more than just one concept and aren’t afraid to do so. From the surprisingly powerful style of debut “CACTUS” to the summer vibes in “TAKE ME HIGHER” and now this, it’s evident the group is certainly growing bigger and only getting better with time. We can’t wait to see more of them in the future.

More and more global collaborations continue making headway in the K-Pop industry. Is this just a trend, or is it something that has come to stay? We love this release, but what do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below!
