Best Serums for Colder Weather

I can slowly feel the weather getting colder and colder here in Canada. When the cold weather comes, that means snow, which makes my skin start to crack and feel extremely dry. To prevent my skin from drying out, I layer different skincare products to ensure that my skin stays moisturized throughout the day. I like to layer serums because they can provide various benefits based on the types of ingredients in them. Here are a few serum recommendations to get you through this winter cold.

Dr. Althea’s Hydration Boosting Serum

Dr. Althea is a small cosmetic company of skin mentor specialists who work together to create products that can be used by various skin types in conditions all around the world. After a couple of days of using this particular serum, my skin began to feel completely moisturized and supple all day. This serum consists of 100 percent squalane oil, which is an ingredient that balances out the production of oil on your face while providing enough moisture for your skin to be clear and healthy. The product has a light consistency that is comfortable and does not leave a sticky feeling. If you layer this product multiple times, it will be perfect to use during the colder seasons. Dr. Althea has many other products that are amazing at keeping skin moisturized and healthy for long periods of time.

Klair’s Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum

Just like the name of the product, the main ingredient in Klair’s serum is vitamin C. How is vitamin C good for our skin? Vitamin C has amazing brightening effects that are perfect during the fall and winter as people tend to focus on brightening after getting tanned throughout the summer. Vitamin C also has amazing anti-aging effects because it is an antioxidant. This product contains five percent vitamin C, which may not seem like a lot, but is enough to keep the product gentle so that people with sensitive skin can use it as well. I have used many vitamin C products and I learned I tend to get a light stingy feeling when applying it onto my face. But this product is super gentle, with a pH level of 3.81. Therefore, this product is perfect for protecting your skin from both sunlight and cold winds without being too harsh for sensitive skin.

Innisfree’s Green Tea Seed Serum

Lastly, you can’t leave out the classic serum that everyone loves due to its light and moisturizing formula. Almost every makeup or skincare guru has tried Innisfree’s serum because people are constantly talking about how amazing it is! Now, some people may ask, why is this product so hyped up? Well, this serum contains organic green tea and green tea seeds from Jeju, which keep your skin hydrated and moisturized throughout the day by forming a moisture barrier on the face. After using this product, I can say that this serum does indeed keep your skin moisturized, and my skin feels refreshed everyday.

Though I can’t speak for everyone, these are the products that I have personally tried and can say keep my skin hydrated and healthy during the cold weather.
