NU’EST is making a comeback on October 21 with their seventh mini-album The Table. Having previously released their sixth mini-album Happily Ever After earlier this spring—a release that marked the return of the full five-member group in nearly three years—fans have been waiting for the veteran boy group to return. With such an expansive career that only seems on the upswing, we at The Kraze can’t wait to see what NU’EST has in store for us, and what better way to prepare than looking back at some of their best hits!

“FACE”

Coming onto the scene in 2012, the fresh-faced boys of NU’EST debuted with their single album and title song “FACE.” With a quintessential bad-boy school concept and infinite amounts of black eyeliner, “FACE” was enough to have any fan swooning. The poppy beat and high-energy choreography (with chairs!) are memorable as is, but add in Ren’s iconic platinum blond bangs/winged eyeliner combo and Baekho’s high notes at the end and “FACE” is a debut that packs a punch.

“Hello”

NU’EST’s winter hit “Hello” off their second mini-album is one of their most well-known. It’s a laid back R&B pop track filled with heartbreak, featuring particularly poignant crooning from Minhyun that’s bound to get stuck in your head. Though this track about love gone astray is not a ballad, the sweeping adlibs from the group’s vocalists in the last half of the song will have you questioning otherwise.

“Sleep Talking” 

“Sleep Talking,” the title track from the group’s third mini-album in 2013, is quite a departure from “Hello” in every way. On top of trading in woeful lyrics for the boys’ take on a party anthem, “Sleep Talking” shows the group in one of their most fun concepts yet. The music video has everything from neon lights to dreamlike sets filled with special effects to some of the most colorful ensembles we’ve seen the boys in yet.

“Love Paint (every afternoon)”

From the group’s fifth mini-album, “Love Paint (every afternoon)” was NU’EST’s last comeback as five members until this year’s “Bet Bet.” One of their most mature releases, the romantic song marked a change in image for the group—they were no longer the rowdy school boys we saw in “FACE.” Instead of a loud concept, the boys adopt a more natural look for the music video which is one of their most stunning videos by far. Filled with beautiful wide shots and striking colors of every hue, “Love Paint” is, fittingly, a true work of art.
