J-Hope and Becky G Revive a Classic in New Music Video
BTS’s J-Hope and Becky G surprised many with an unexpected collaboration. The pair's track “Chicken Noodle Soup” is heavily inspired and even sampled from the 2006 track released by Webstar and Bianca Bonnie of the same name.
The track combines English, Spanish, and Korean in a cacophony of lyrics about having love for where you grew up, and keeps the iconic chorus from the original track: “chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side.” It also pays homage to the original dance, with J-Hope adding his own little twist.
The diversity present in the video was a breath of fresh air as J-Hope and Becky G made sure to create quite the cast of dancers so everyone was represented. The location of the music video is presumably on the west coast of the United States in what looks like an industrial park. The costuming Becky G and J-Hope sported were very colorful and fit the chosen aesthetic of the music video.
The post credits scene shows an enthusiastic dance circle with a smiling J-Hope and Becky G at the center leading the dancers in a chant of the opening lyrics of the song, showing how much fun they had filming the song. Overall, J-Hope looked so happy and in his element throughout the whole music video, making it a treat for viewers to watch.
