B-Sides: As Strong as Title Tracks

Have you ever wondered about certain B-sides that are capable of being a featured track on their own? With October coming to an end, it’s time to suggest some of favorite B-sides that are as rich as the title tracks on their albums.

“Level Up” – ONEUS

This track from the promising rookie group truly deserves a listen as the song impactfully hits our eardrums with its heavy, bass-driven instrumentals. As the dance track keeps us hyped up with its catchy chorus, the lyrics promptly deliver positivity like “Follow yesterday’s dream so that it can shine today,” which is perfect for a day or night motivation playlist. Without much effort, both the rap and vocal lines sweep away our attention with their hooking verses, making us go “Level up, level up” all around.

“WIN” – ATEEZ

ATEEZ is known for giving us solid B-sides, and once again they presented us with a handful of likeable tracks on their latest album. One such powerful song is “WIN.” The pompous, upbeat song brings in a major house and Afrobeat influence, keeping us hyped up as they proclaim their victory of being a tough competitor. This track is another song to add to your playlist to boost your confidence in the daily run. With emphasis on Mingi’s lashing verses and strong dance breaks, the expectation of watching their live performance hits high.

“I Can’t Stand The Rain” – SuperM

The track that literally needs everyone’s attention on SuperM’s album is “I Can’t Stand The Rain.” With a fusion of traditional and jungle beats, the track serves as a diverse one among the Western collection. Inspired by tribal ritual performances that pray for rain, the members chant a similar track to stop the rainy days. The song symbolizes the sad affair of a breakup; the days without their loved one are considered to be rainy and cold. As a special mention, both Baekhyun and Taemin take superior power as vocalists while the other members add the essential flavor to the bountiful beat.

“The Crown” – Super Junior

The Hallyu kings are back and yes, they do have a separate track to sing about the crown they have been wearing for years. The 21st century version of “Superman” is served to us on a platter in the name of “The Crown.” The pompous, upbeat track is another confidence-boosting track to add to your playlist. With a grand entrance of the audience cheering from behind, the song begins to sing about the group’s journey. The highlighted pre-chorus lines, “The five letters which we have protected this far on this arduous road. Now we go beyond being the first to being the best,” are sure to give us goosebumps, as we proudly sing and nod along to the chorus, “I am ready for you now.”

“Emergency” – DAY6

One of the most unique works of DAY6 would be “Emergency” from their latest full album. The upbeat track is incredibly catchy and fun to sing along to, and it will never escape from your memory. The small jingles and drum beats adding up to the funky chorus, “Breathe in, breathe in and out and in and out and out,” keeps the listener in joy throughout the track. Adding up to the lively track, an entertaining music video would have definitely been a killer duo.

So, which one of these B-sides is your favorite?
