Throwback Thursday: Best of GOT7

Aghases, rejoice! GOT7 made their comeback on November 4 with “You Calling My Name” from their latest mini-album, Call My Name. To celebrate the return of the worldwide famous group, let’s take a look back at some of their top hits!

“If You Do”

The group’s 2015 emotionally-laden dance track “If You Do” got the boys their first music show win on The Show. Off their fourth mini-album MAD, the song saw repeated success for GOT7, even garnering them a coveted “triple crown” on The Show. Don’t be fooled by the heartbreaking lyrics; the choreography to this track features some of GOT7’s snazziest footwork.

“Fly”

“Fly” comes off of 2016’s FLIGHT LOG: DEPARTURE and served as the first single of GOT7’s FLIGHT LOG trilogy. The mini-album went on to win the first quarter award for “Album of the Year” at the 2017 Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards while “Fly” managed to get five wins on music shows. “Fly” is a fittingly light and airy pop track, perfect for days where it feels like nothing can bring you down.

“Never Ever”

FLIGHT LOG: ARRIVAL was the final installment in the group’s FLIGHT LOG series and featured title track “Never Ever.” Produced in part by JYP himself, “Never Ever” is a much more mysterious take on a title track than seen in the rest of the FLIGHT LOG series, though it’s every bit as groovy as its predecessors. On top of four music show wins for “Never Ever,” ARRIVAL even topped the Billboard World Album Sales chart.

“You Are”

2017’s 7 for 7 is—perhaps unsurprisingly—the group’s seventh mini-album. In a release full of lyrical and compositional contributions from the members, 7 for 7 is lead by its whimsical single “You Are.” Though it doesn’t sound particularly sad, there is a sort of ambiguous sound to the obviously happy love song. Perhaps it’s the ambivalent mood or the beautiful lyrics, but there’s something that just sets this calming GOT7 title apart from others.
