The Rose Paints the Town RED with New Single Album

The Rose is back and just in time as summer nears its end. Released on August 13, the new single album from the band, titled RED, contains two new tracks including an instrumental version of “RED,” the album’s title track.

The single album opens with “California,” a full English track about returning to one’s hometown. In the track, the comforting nostalgia that comes along with returning home is wonderfully executed by Woosung’s raspier vocals intermixed with Dojoon’s falsettos.

Title track “RED,” though much more polished than the usual grittier rock sound from the band, is the perfect musical testament to youth as long summer days start waning into chilly fall nights. With its bubbly synths, fantastical guitars, and carpe diem message, “RED” is the kind of anthemic song that everyone likes even if they don’t want to admit it. After all, who doesn’t want to live life to the fullest? Lucky for us, The Rose quite literally gave us the ideal background music to do just that, as the instrumental version of the track closes out the album.

The music video for “RED” is just as dazzling as the song, with the band jamming on the beach and causing general ruckus before a magical late night performance complete with sparklers. Visually, the video is full of stunning colors, especially towards the end with vibrant hues in stark contrast to their darker backgrounds—imagery wholly suited for the last hurrah of summer. One thing’s for sure, this song is destined to be a crowd-pleaser on the band’s upcoming We Rose You Tour
