B-Sides: Budding Perfect (X1 Version)

With no doubt, X1 kept us spellbound with their latest release “Flash.” The charm of the group does not stop with their sensual single, but continues as the B-tracks take an upper hand. The whole album is filled with both strong and serene appeal, promising a long run for both the fans as well as the artists.

“U GOT IT”

“U GOT IT,” originally created for the first Produce 101 show, made its way into the album as one of the solid tracks from the act. The song sounds simple with its typical flow and arrangement, yet holds the listener with its chorus hooks and rhythmic beats. The members casually snatch our attention as they express their love with demanding vocals and rap verses. While Seungwoo leaves jaws dropping with his unbelievable notes, the others keep us busy by repeating “U GOT IT, U GOT IT,” and “Don’t worry, Don’t worry,” whenever given a chance. In addition to the well-paced instrumental work, the lyrics also play along in making listeners feel good and, at times, even flattered by sudden cheesy compliments.

“Move”

The next track is another song from the show, though much bolder and deeper. With no hesitation, the last track of the album dominates the lineup, as Dohyon begins “Yeah, cross the line,” accompanying the bass track. The members are not newbies anymore, as they take their command while seizing the whole world in their hands. As the verses continue, the members reach out to their audience, asking to join in their journey together to “move the world.” Without much hurry, the piece calmly claims a bright future for the group and their fans with cheers and happy tears. Inclusive of the chorus drop, hooks, and complementing slender and deep vocals, “Move” manages to be on par with the single of the album.

“I’m here for you”

In contrast to the above mentioned tracks, “I’m here for you” plays as a melody of comfort. The soft keyboard notes lead to the soothing piece of the album. As 21st century artists, X1 does justice by speaking out to every troubled individual. The lyrics sweetly mellow the unspoken disillusionment, which stirs built-up emotions, making the piece a tear jerker. Furthermore, the members relate their own struggles and assure fans a better tomorrow. The beautiful piece makes listeners feel complete as the members promise fans they’ll stay by their side, stating “I am here for you.”

With these tracks, it is evident that these eleven boys have a lot to say to the world. Make sure to check out the rest of the tracks from the album and let us know how you feel about X1 and their first album, QUANTUM LEAP.
