Natty Releases Playful Single “Teddy Bear”

After a successful debut back in May with single “Nineteen,” Natty is back with new single “Teddy Bear!” For those unfamiliar with Natty, she was previously in the spotlight for her participation in Sixteen, TWICE’s survival show at JYP Entertainment, and Idol School in 2017, which created the girl group fromis_9. Barely missing to debut twice, the Thai singer decided to leave JYP Entertainment earlier this year and debut solo under Swing Entertainment. “Teddy Bear” marks her first comeback.

Whereas “Nineteen” was a more classic pop-EDM track, “Teddy Bear” brings a new flavor that is playful and upbeat. The composition feels less formulaic, with vocals that are slightly less pronounced (which is definitely a good thing for her vocal tone—it can get a bit sharp if too much emphasis is placed on it) and a beat drop into the chorus that focuses more on a groovy beat than a hard-hitting vocal line. The chorus is incredibly infectious and has just the right mixing for it to be extremely present, which shows some growth from her debut track. While it is definitely classically pop, there’s something to it that makes the song stand out and gives it potential to enter into your heavy rotations.

“Teddy Bear” is a cutesy concept all around, but Natty surprisingly brings a level of coolness to this as well. This is accented by the choreography shots where she and the dancers are in skirts with chains. Accentuated colors and playful sets with stuffed animals and makeup make for a bright atmosphere, and coupling that with the lively choreography makes for a great mix. The choreography at the chorus definitely has viral dance potential, though it’s hard to say if that would come to fruition. But if it does, you heard it here first!

Natty did a great job buttoning up any issues with her debut in this first comeback and it’s definitely a great track to add to your music library. Check out Natty’s “Teddy Bear” below!
