CNBLUE Returns After a Long Hiatus with “Then, Now and Forever”
CNBLUE has returned with an impactful comeback after a long hiatus of almost four years. Their newest album, RE:CODE, is their first album with three members after the departure of Jonghyun.
The title track “과거 현재 미래 (Then, Now and Forever)” is a track that is a mix of pop and alternative rock. The leader, Yonghwa, took part in composing and writing the lyrics for this track. It expresses the feelings of continuing to live their daily lives without their loved one.
In the music video, the members are seen attempting to continue on with their lives with the feelings of sorrow from missing someone. The entire mood of the video is quite neutral and dark from the sad feelings of someone’s absence. There are a lot of scenes which have the color blue standing out, which also represents the emotions of sadness and being down.
The album continues with “오늘은 이만 (Till Then),” which is an upbeat acoustic track that brings the mood back up. “없다 (In Time)” and “추원졌네 (Winter Again)” are both soft ballads that are able to perfectly portray Yonghwa’s beautiful vocals. The album ends on a happy note with “Blue Stars,” which is the perfect way to end the album. CNBLUE has returned with their newest album after a long awaited comeback. Please love and support them!
