Throwback Thursday: Best of Eric Nam
Currently in the midst of his Before We Begin world tour, Eric Nam has made a name for himself in both Korea and overseas. With a hand in everything from ballads to pop hits and a seemingly never-ending list of impressive collaborations, the singer has got a song for every mood.
“Ooh Ooh” feat. Hoya
Released as his first digital single in 2014, “Ooh Ooh” is everything a quintessential older Eric Nam song should be. In his earlier years, Eric capitalized on his goofy, groovy side and “Ooh Ooh” showcases both his ability to poke fun at himself and his talent for old school dance music. Add in INFINITE’s Hoya and you have an impossibly feel-good song.
“Can’t Help Myself” feat. LOCO
Another digital single released in 2016, “Can’t Help Myself” is a staple on Eric’s tour setlists for its undeniable hype. Penned by Epik High’s Tablo and featuring rapper LOCO, “Can’t Help Myself” is just as fun as Eric himself is suave. In both the song and its music video, fans will find it hard not to fall for Eric’s charm.
“Miss You”
2018’s “Miss You” is a single that shows Eric’s penchant for R&B. If there’s one thing he knows how to do as an artist, it’s commiserate with fans over a broken heart. “Miss You” has much of the same feel as the majority of his Honestly mini-album, with clear influences of Latin and soul music in the song—a sound that fits his mature image flawlessly.
“You, Who?” feat. Somi
In the spring of 2017, Eric collaborated with former I.O.I member and current soloist Somi on “You, Who?” a soft pop-rock duet about blooming love. Ever the charmer, Eric’s gentle crooning wonderfully complements Somi’s clear voice, making for the perfect acoustic track about springtime romance.
