WINNER Does Not “Hold” Back With Their New Single
After nearly five months since their last comeback, YG Entertainment boy group WINNER released their new single “뜸 (Hold).” This is a pre-release single for their third full album, “Remember,” which will be released on April 9, 2020.
WINNER uses witty and fun lyrics to create this song about the feelings one may get when they are getting to know someone better and are catching feelings. It is a similar style to WINNER’S previous songs, but the first few beats of “뜸 (Hold)” will immediately draw you in. Mino opens up with his distinctive rapping style, creating a playful attitude for the song. The electronic beats throughout, particularly at the chorus, emphasize the cheerful and fun feeling of the song.
The music video boasts an almost child-like nature as it features Lee Suhyun from AKMU as the younger sister and the four WINNER members as her older brothers. The video uses a classic family sitcom style along with clap tracks in the background to showcase the humor. The WINNER siblings tease their sister for having a crush while also being protective of her when the boy ultimately shows up. The fun can-can style dance featured in the choreography apparently came up from a dream Mino had, and it brings out the members’ free-spirited and cute natures. During the credits, the members even re-create the dance with their fingers.
This song has a very lively vibe to it that will leave any listener uplifted. We are curious to see if this cheerful sound will continue throughout their new album.
