Spring Trends For 2020

Spring has finally arrived and along with it many new trends that are popular for this warmer season. Many Korean brands including handbag brand ORYANY, and clothing brands such as RolaRola have used the word “dreamy” to describe their spring collections. The calm and tranquility that can be seen in the daintiness and the blooming of flowers has been a big inspiration for this spring.

Florals

Florals are a staple of any spring season; what reminds you more of this season than flowers?. Smaller floral patterns with light pastels and neutrals have been notably popular for 2020, giving a more subtle and innocent vintage-inspired look. The Korean brand, Chuu, who is known for the -5kg jeans, has been very prominent in setting this trend. This floral trend is typically seen on long dresses and tops, particularly with this style of sweetheart scoop neck.

Plaids

Plaids, in particular, have been popular for a time now but are making a strong comeback this spring. These plaids are typically in earth tones and pastels to match the “dreaminess” feel for this season. We see these plaid looks on A-line skirts and on two-piece outfits.

Popular Korean fashion brand, Stylenanda, uses plaid in many of their stylings including this look above that uses earth tones in the matching plaid vest and skirt set. Photo: @stylenanda_korea

Cardigans

Wearing just a cardigan layer as a shirt began last year and has continued to make way his spring. Using cardigans of similar patterns as shirts has become more prominent, particularly with the floral patterns. Cardigan and matching skirt two-piece outfits of light pastel colors are also making an appearance.

Fashion brand RolaRola has taken inspiration on their pastel looks from the blooming period of the French countryside. They use many different quotes to describe their theme including “Today I will do absolutely nothing” and “refresh yourself.” Photo: @rolarola.official

Layers

There is a Japanese term “mori,” which means forest and is all about bringing a natural look through layering. Layering can help finish a look and can work with any of these floral and plaid styles. Cardigans are a perfect layer for Spring as they can easily add to a look and are useful in case it may get chilly.
