Changmin Allures With The Flavor of “Chocolate”

It is the second hit for SM Entertainment, as the company once again brings out a successful solo debut in the year. TVXQ’s youngest member Changmin finally got his solo debut to show off his incredible colors to the “MAX” with his first mini-album, Chocolate. Debuting in 2003 as a second generation artist, Changmin has been recognized as one of the most renowned vocalists in the industry. The newbie K-Pop fans of this generation are lucky enough to witness the artist’s charm.

The Title Track

“Un deux trois quatre,” begins the title track “Chocolate,” exposing the listeners to a sassy and tempting vocalist. For a main vocalist mastering the genre for years, a catchy melody would have been an expected release from the artist, but the breath taking teasers weren’t lying about the sharp and sensuous single. The song is all about attraction and being sensually driven to a loved one. Penned by the singer himself, the lyrics are peppy, fun and light for all to enjoy. Being a highly addictive and alluring track, the song is structured to exhibit multiple power vocals.

As a perfect match to his stage name MAX, Changmin stands out as an exceptional vocalist switching between husky verses to piercing high notes. Adding up to the high energy chorus, the track has snippets of English phrases, making the audience clasp their heart. As a result of various hooks and blends, the song succeeds in bounding the listeners to keep the song on repeat.

The Music Video

The music video plays a strong role in captivating the viewers with its stunning visuals and a sleek choreography. Changmin playing the role of a con-artist, making sure to snatch our attention from the very beginning with his stellar silver hair. The story unravels as he sketches a plan to steal a precious stone. While trying to execute his plan, the singer gets caught for his act and the scene shifts to Changmin being questioned in an interrogation room. The conclusion is left to the audience for them to decide whether he escapes or not. With a solid story line to follow, the music video is both interesting and captivating bringing in a wider range of viewers.

As for the choreography, the singer remains to be the man of charms, simple yet eye-catching dance moves. The perfectly fitting wardrobe, the classy settings are few precious gems that add to the overall concept image. In the end, it is not about the stolen gem but the number of hearts being robbed by the artist.
