Throwback Thursday: Summer Comebacks Part 2

Continuing last week’s theme, this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday brings you even more of The Kraze’s favorite summer comebacks!

“I Swear” - SISTAR

It wouldn’t be a proper summer throwback feature if we didn’t include SISTAR. Their 2014 hit “I Swear,” which also served as the lead single off their summer special album Sweet & Sour, is equal parts groovy and fun. Combining elements of disco with SISTAR’s usual summer party sound, this upbeat song about undying love is perfect for the hottest of summer days.

“WE LIKE 2 PARTY” - BIGBANG

Originally released alongside “BANG BANG BANG” on their 2015 single album A, “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” is BIGBANG’s more sentimental take on summer. With a twangy acoustic guitar as the base sound and the boys singing as one in the chorus, “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” is that summer anthem that will have you cherishing every summer moment with your friends. And the documentary-style music video only makes it that much better.

“Divin’” - Geeks

In 2016 the hip-hop duo Geeks released their single “Divin.” The song has a simple summery feel to it, with Lil Boi and Louie’s verses taking front and center. The music video, perhaps unsurprisingly, amps up the summer vibes, with plenty of shots of the boys jumping into pools. Seriously, make sure you have access to a pool after watching this video—Geeks will have you dying to go for a swim.

“LOVE ME LOVE ME” - WINNER

WINNER’s “LOVE ME LOVE ME” from 2017’s Our Twenty For is about as summer as K-Pop gets (aside from SISTAR, of course). The song gets its laid-back feels from the tropical house genre, but the slight disco influence gives the track a catchy hook. As an added summer bonus, both the video for “LOVE ME LOVE” and its sister track “ISLAND” were shot in Hawaii.
