Iconic Looks from IRENE & SEULGI’s “Monster”
Irene & Seulgi, the sub-unit of girl group Red Velvet, recently released their debut song “Monster.” The music video brings a dark and glamorous look with many unique outfits that draw you in even more. Here we’ll take a look at some of the iconic fashion statements from the music video!
Look #1
These outfits were custom made for both members by Korean brand Lingerie Han. The style brings a mix of corsets and glam with the glittered straps that accentuate their bodies. The finishing touch is the cropped military-esque jackets that are glammed up with embellishments and gold chains dripping off their shoulders.
Seulgi and Irene both have unique touches to their outfits as Irene’s includes a wired frame piece around her hips and long ribbons attached to the top as well as a gold bow while Seulgi’s has a gold belt around the middle and knee-high boots that have bright buttons decorated down the middle.
These lingerie pieces are seen in another style as Irene is wearing the same top with high-waisted shorts and knee-high boots while Seulgi has on high-waisted pants that flare from the knees down.
Look #2
The second iconic look is the biggest contrast compared to the overall dark outfits during the music video. Irene and Seulgi are dressed in all white dresses that bring out a dream-like ambience while the puffed sleeves and scoop necklines highlight a Victorian nightgown look. Both members have a unique top with a similar flowy white skirt to match.
Irene’s top is called a princess top and is from the brand Orseund Iris. It is a cropped top that is tied in the middle. It has a pronounced puffed sleeve and a sweetheart neckline to complete that royal look.
Seulgi’s top is also from Orseund Iris and is called the Victorian Cotton Top. It has a slight puffed sleeve with a tighter corset look and buttons down the middle.
Look #3
These outfits bring out a sparkle as the centerpoint of the look. It is more of a dark glam party look with bright sequined strapless cropped tanks to match. Irene’s top is from the brand The Attico. It features a sweetheart neckline and is paired with a black lace wrist warmer and choker. Seulgi has an asymmetrical tank that drapes to one side with a final touch of fingerless gloves and a lace choker.
Irene and Seulgi show off another glam look with these sleeved tops.
Irene keeps the sequined trend going but has more of a transparent black top that is embellished with sequins.
Seulgi is in a fitted shirt from the brand Kenzo that has a high collar and a sea lily pattern.
IRENE & SEULGI have more outfits, including some that they have worn for their live performances. Which looks have been your favorites? What kind of outfits would you like to see most?
