Throwback Thursday: Summer Lovin’

Just like warm, sunny weather helps actual flowers thrive, there’s no time like summer for love to bloom. For this week’s Throwback Thursday, check out some of The Kraze’s summer romance favorites!

“Darling” - Girl’s Day

Girl’s Day Everyday #4 is the fifth mini-album from the group Girl’s Day and it’s led by the impossibly bright, retro-infused “Darling.” The old-fashioned pop track is about longing to know the feeling of love is mutual and the cute and catchy melody easily does the happiness of newfound love justice. As great as falling in love is, there’s nothing quite like knowing your feelings are finally mutual. Girl’s Day is here for you as you spend your time blissfully floating on cloud nine.

“The First Date” - 2PM

In 2013, 2PM released their third full album Grown, and with it, their B-side “The First Date.” For an album focused on the growth of the band, “The First Date” is a pop track practically overflowing with the feeling of puppy love. If just the thought of your new summer romance has you feeling like life has become a musical, the feel-good piano hooks and pops of brass in “The First Date” might just make for the best background music.

“Pretty Pretty” - PENTAGON

Though PENTAGON’s 2016 mini-album Five Sense was released in the winter and headed by the title track “Can You Feel It,” the B-side “Pretty Pretty” is an undeniably catchy song that’s ideal for the dead of summer. Pulling more from pop music than much of the group’s earlier releases, “Pretty Pretty” is full of PENTAGON’s infectious charm. The chorus is positively explosive and perfect for those times when your heart feels like it’s going to burst because of that special someone. (And yes, that is Chungha in the music video.)

“24/7=heaven” - BTS

Released on their first full album DARK & WILD, BTS’s “24/7=heaven” is summer in musical form. With much of the album produced during the group’s 2014 visit to Los Angeles, it’s no wonder the song sounds like a sunny day spent wandering around L.A. with the apple of your eye. In the song, the boys sing of the rose-colored filter that only new love can bring to one’s life. So if you’re feeling on top of the world thanks to your new beau, there’s no better way to let off that steam than by listening to the honeyed tones of “24/7=heaven.”
