M.O.N.T Returns with Burgundy Tape

Coming in hot on the tail of their summer feel-good single AQUATAPE, M.O.N.T has once again returned with a new single, titled Burgundy Tape. While summer isn’t quite over just yet, Burgundy Tape is the perfect single that begins the transition from summer to fall. With two brand new songs, “Moonlight” and “Shadow,” fans will swoon at this refreshing and heartwarming new release.

“Moonlight”

Prior to the release of the full single, “Moonlight” was the first track up on the dock, with Bitsaeon taking the helm with an all-English solo track. “Moonlight” is a jazzy acoustic song that easily soothes one’s soul right down to the bones. The moonlight is personified as Bitsaeon’s lover who only knows and sees his truest form. While many think that and have their perception of Bitsaeon, the moonlight knows secrets that he only shares with her (as he describes the moonlight as a female within the lyrics of the song). Nonetheless, “Moonlight” is such a sweet and gentle song, that it is easy to just lose oneself in Bitsaeon’s smooth vocals.

“Moonlight” is the perfect addition for those who have a dedicated lullaby playlist. The music video for “Moonlight” features Bitsaeon taking center stage at a bar/lounge as he croons the night away. The music video is in black and white, further adding to the sultry and sensual vibe that the song portrays. The only color that can be seen in the music video is the orange of the lyrics displayed at the bottom of the screen. Perhaps the most endearing part is that M.O.N.T never fails to thank MINTs (the group’s fandom name) at the end of the video. “Moonlight” is for sure that song that will warm the hearts of listeners and make new ones fall in love.

“Shadow”

While “Moonlight” is the soft and gentle track of Burgundy Tape, “Shadow” is the more upbeat, steamy jazz track off the single. “Shadow” features all the members of M.O.N.T, each getting his moment to shine. From the gritty raps of Roda and Narachan and the silky smooth vocals from Bitsaeon, all three come together to deliver a sensual summer-to-fall song. “Shadow” is about the drunken and intoxicated type of love that one may go through—when the feelings are so strong and one can’t help but want more. From top to bottom, inside and out, down to their shadow, the M.O.N.T members like everything about this person that they are ever-so-interested in.

The song itself is heavily jazz-influenced mixed with R&B, which gives it a groovy and catchy vibe. The music video follows all three members stumbling around in the bar/lounge that previously featured Bitsaeon. But clearly, this is much later on in the evening when the night comes into full bloom and feelings come to light. The members themselves are dapper and dressed to the nines in suits, further adding to the jazzy concept and vibe that they are going for.

All in all, M.O.N.T delivers a solid single and is well-deserving of a listen. Burgundy Tape showcases a mature and sensual side to M.O.N.T and many can look forward to what they have next in store.
