Sunmi is a Punk Princess on New Single, “Go or Stop?”

Announced as a surprise single, Sunmi released her new song “Go or Stop?” The track was originally teased by the singer a while back but has received a proper release as a theme song to DWG KIA, commonly referred to as DAMWON KIA, a South Korean professional eSports organization. Its League of Legends team competes in the League of Legends Champions Korea, the top-level league for the game in South Korea.

For the new track, Sunmi collaborated with longtime friend and producer FRANTS to create a  strong electronic sound, deviating from the retro pop-style of her latest album 1/6 (One-Sixth). The song’s lyrics match the energy of DWG KIA as a gaming group. Sunmi empowers listeners by sharing that overcoming fear and moving towards victory is important, similar to the story of DWG KIA, who is currently competing in League Of Legends Champions Korea in hopes to win the tournament for a second time in a row this year.

The music video finds a pink-haired Sunmi donning several sci-fi punk outfits and performing an intense choreography on a set inspired by futuristic aesthetics. The video was released via DWG KIA’s YouTube channel and was directed by Sunmi herself. Check out the music video for “Go or Stop?” below, and catch Sunmi at her first online concert Good Girl Gone Mad on October 30 at 2 p.m. KST. Tickets can be bought from Weverse Shop.
