Lee Jinhyuk Returns with the Charming “Work Work”

It’s been a good six months since we’ve heard from Lee Jinhyuk, but the soloist just made his return with new mini-album Ctrl+V and lead title “Work Work.” A playful song reminiscent of his previous release, Jinhyuk is in his wheelhouse with this latest title.

“Work Work” is an upbeat and bright hip-hop influenced track which gives us summer vibes even as we transition into the height of fall. The beat is simple but addicting, and you can’t help but have a smile on your face as you listen to the track. If you’re looking for a song that is simple and sweet, this will be a perfect fit. The rapper mixes a healthy dose of both vocals and rap throughout the track, showing his versatility.

The video matches well with the track, with bright colors taking center stage alongside Jinhyuk. The recurring visual of a giant purple gummy bear can admittedly be a bit jarring, but he represents the drive to focus on work. Early on in the video, we see Jinhyuk’s phone light up with calls from the “work bear” as he goofs around in the studio. Many of Jinhyuk’s outfits also feature loud and very colorful pieces, and scenes that don’t have him in more simple white or black with purple-heavy backgrounds. Upbeat through and through is what is given both in the audio and imagery of this comeback.
