Secret Number Welcomes Us To Their World

Following line-up shuffling and the addition of two new members, Minji and Zuu, rookie girl group Secret Number has made their long-awaited comeback with the single album Fire Saturday. Debuting in 2020 with the catchy single “Who Dis?,” the group quickly garnered attention for their bold style. The group made their first comeback with the disco-tinged “Go That Boom” and won Best New Female Artist award at the Asia Artist Awards. However, the group went into an indefinite hiatus with schedule cancellations and lack of promotional activities for undisclosed reasons. Therefore, the new single is one of most anticipated releases among rookie groups, and Secret Number brings the house down.

Co-written by Jessi, “Fire Saturday” is a disco-pop song with a heavy synth beat and the nu-disco sound that has recently found resurgence in the industry. The track is extremely catchy, and the repetitive hook makes it an instant earworm. The rap verse by member Jinny packs a punch while the chorus is led by the group’s vocalists and their soaring high notes. The music video is colorful and reminiscent of visuals created by Apink, but the highlight of the music video is definitely the outfits. The girls are bringing back bright colored flares, also known as bell-bottom trousers, popular in the ‘60s and ‘70s.

The single is paired with the B-side track “Dangerous In Love,” which was written entirely by Jinny. The song is a perfect summer anthem with latin beats and refreshing lyrics about a dangerous love story. With the new single, Secret Number is looking forward to carving their own space in the fourth generation. They have already proven their popularity and will continue to find success with the new songs. Check out the music video for “Fire Saturday” below!
