P1Harmony Dares You Not to be Scared on New Song

Rookie boy group P1Harmony is back with their new mini-album DISHARMONY : BREAK OUT, supported by title track “겁나니 (Scared).” This comeback marks their first since debut, and after their powerful debut with “SIREN,” it’s no surprise that their new release packs a punch as well.

Right off the bat, “겁나니 (Scared)” is not an easy listen. The track’s gritty production paired with the anti-drop and the members’ delivery makes the listener instantly uneasy. However, all these aspects play a critical role in delivering the song’s message of courage to those who have given up on their dreams due to inequalities in the framework created by society. The music video conveys the same sentiments through dark tones and stage setting. The intense choreography is performed by the group and their dancers wearing head-covering masks, showing their indifference and how society views them all as outcasts.

P1Harmony’s signature style is quite different from fellow labelmates SF9 and N.Flying. The rookie boy group is very hip-hop heavy, incorporating intense rap and hard-hitting melodies in their songs. This can be heard on the album’s standout B-sides which include “Reset” and “Pyramid.” Quite a few members took part in the songwriting process of the tracks, amplifying the message of the album and making it even more personal, while J.DON of N.Flying co-wrote the track “AYAYA” for the group, which features heavy drums and bass.

With the new mini-album, P1Harmony is solidifying their spot in K-Pop and aim to become one of the top rookies of the new generation. DISHARMONY : BREAK OUT is an intense new step in their storytelling and is going to leave its mark. Watch the music video for “겁나니 (Scared)” below!
