Park Bom Talks About Love in "Do Re Mi Fa Sol"

The queen has returned! After two years, Park Bom makes her long-awaited return with the new track, “Do Re Mi Fa Sol,” featuring rapper and producer Changmo. This song was produced by former YG Entertainment producer KUSH

THE SONG

With the calming acoustic instrumental to start us off, Park Bom’s unique vocals create a classical and romantic sound that’s pleasing to the ears. At first impression, “Do Re Mi Fa Sol” can come off as a light-hearted song; however, it focuses on how love is simple, but also complicated. With lyrics like “So don’t rush for the love” and “Don’t confuse me, baby,” the love she seeks is to be understood with her whole heart; though, the most memorable and humorous line from this track is, “You give me a chronic headache, baby.” With Changmo’s lyrics, it adds a second narrative to the song, where the other person still needs the practice to understand simple and easy love.

THE VIDEO

In the music video, we see Park Bom in her gorgeous red gown looking through images to portray watching through the memories of love. She appears looking out her window watching three generations of couples sharing small acts of love to help visualize how simple love can be. There are instances throughout the video where lyrics like “Don’t be complicated” appear on screen to emphasize the meaning in her song. With soft and memorable scenery—a field of pillows, a piano in nature, and a room looking at images—Park Bom captures the desire for a simple kind of love.

FINAL THOUGHTS

If there’s one thing Park Bom wants you to take away from her song, it’s that all it takes for love to be simple and easy is to understand each other’s hearts and just love them. BOMSHELLs and Blackjacks, let’s keep showing love and support for our queen Bom!
