SUMIN and Zion.T Team up Once Again for New Single
A year ago, the legendary K-R&B duo of SUMIN and Zion.T teamed up to release the single “Dirty Love.” With the original single showcasing the overflowing chemistry between the two artists, and their distinct brands of quirkiness working in perfect harmony, it was an absolute treat to see a new single teaser from the duo.
Their latest project “Creamppang” has a distinctly different sound and structure compared to “Dirty Love.” The most noticeable difference is that rather than each singer alternating verses, each line is delivered back and forth, providing a stronger feeling of collaboration. The track still has a distinctly R&B melodic base, but this time with more modern influences rather than a retro sound. The driving beat is refreshing, and the melding of SUMIN and Zion.T’s vocals, especially in their harmonizations, is a treat for the ears. “Creamppang” definitely has a signature SUMIN sound to it, and if you’re a fan of the producer, you’ll recognize the song structure almost immediately.
If the song itself didn’t convince you that these two are a legendary duo, then the music video surely will. The individual quirkiness of each artist is on full display, and while we wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s “weird,” there’s definitely a strong sense of peculiarity from theme to the metaphoric symbols used. The video starts out with the duo waking up hungover in a completely trashed apartment, every inch full of chaos. Our favorite shot has the two of them sitting in matching white robes with silly sunglasses and slices of cucumbers on their faces. There are a lot of metaphorical elements that will take a number of views to catch, which adds an interesting element of meaning to the song.
