Maddox is Our Dark Knight in New Release

Almost a year after the release of his last single “Sleep,” KQ Entertainment soloist Maddox has returned with his latest single “Knight.” Described by the soloist as “a very calm and kind of a song that will tickle your ears”* and a “healing song that shares comfort and love,”* his latest single truly delivers just that. The fairytale elements throughout the lyrics carry along the story of Maddox being a knight on his way to rescue his princess, and when paired with the soft acoustic guitar, the two paint this beautiful picture of a love so strong that it could move mountains. As the song reaches its end, some snapping is added as well as some drum using drum brushes to give it this really interesting sound not normally heard in music today, upping the beat of the song just a bit.

The music video is just as soft as the song, with a filter used throughout to mute the colors. We’re treated to scenes of Maddox in a field and some where he’s surrounded by flowers, but the nighttime scenes of him walking through the field or standing in the tall grass lit red are some of the most beautiful. The song is very much a lullaby, and the music video is the perfect visual representation of the childhood storybooks we all remember being read before bed.

While this song is unlike any of his other single releases, it works; his voice fits the softer tempo, and the lyrics are sure to stick with those going through rough times. Let’s just hope it’s not another year before we hear from Maddox.
