Throwback Thursday: Colorful Summer

From exploding pops of color to the high energy of their charisma and dance moves, here are some summer comeback songs with irresistible beats for this week's Throwback Thursday that will definitely have you excitedly jamming along.

B.A.P - “That’s My Jam”

B.A.P’s “That’s My Jam” begins with a groovy bass riff that immediately pulls you into a bright energetic party sound, and this EDM-based song and catchy chorus will have you dancing along. The rap verses of this song fit surprisingly well, particularly Bang Yongguk’s seductive deep voice that just adds another layer to the track. The music video is just as fun, as it gives us Youngjae’s iconic bright orange hair. It also shows cute scenes of the members in various TV show situations, including a parody of The Tonight Show.

Red Velvet - “Power Up”

For an uplifting and sweet song, Red Velvet’s “Power Up” is the perfect pick to listen to and enjoy. Overall, the song is cute and incredibly catchy, and their harmonized vocals are quite strong. The continuous “ba-banana ba-ba-banana-nana ” throughout the tune as well as the choreo during this part are guaranteed to stick with you. For the visuals in the music video, the bold color contrast between the backgrounds and the members’ various outfits really adds to the brightness of the song.

MOMOLAND - “BAAM”

MOMOLAND’s “BAAM” aggressively pulls you into its fast-paced energetic sound as soon as the song begins, which will keep you smiling as it is just such a happy sound, you can’t help but to get up and dance. The main points of the choreo for “BAAM” would be the “chicken dance,” and a quick feature of the “hammer dance,” as well as the swoon-worthy fan dance from Yeonwoo. The video features the members dressed from different cultures around the world and uses very creative outfits with lots of pops of color throughout.

Block B - “Her”

“Her” is an addictive track and really dives into the playful personality of Block B. The whole song has a bright and brassy tone to it, making it such a fun listen. “Her” also showcases ZICO’s quick rap skills as well as the power and beauty of Taeil’s voice. The music video uses an overly saturated filter to really make the pinks, blues, and yellows pop out of the screen, further showing just how enjoyable this song is with these cheery colors. Tying it all together is the quirky choreo for the chorus, where the members draw their arms to themselves and put their hands on their hips and do a silly leg dance. One cannot help but laugh and then try to copy this goofy but adorable dance.
