What is it Like Meeting P1Harmony on a Deserted Island?

FNC Entertainment’s rookie boy group P1Harmony recently held their second online fanmeeting. As a group that debuted during today’s new normal, we still don’t know when the first possible chance to meet the group live will come. Although P1eces’ chances to interact or “meet” with the boys are limited to the screen, we are blessed with their strong social media presence, and P1uspace H: Time To Move Out (TTMO) was a great opportunity for fans from all around the world to tune in and spend a little time with the members, Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob. With TTMO, fans could spend a lovely Sunday with their favorites, and of course we had to join as well. Here’s our recap of what happened on P1Harmony’s deserted island.

P1uspace H: Time To Move Out

As the event started streaming, the members were lying down on the seaside. After slowly waking up and “realizing” they were on a deserted island, they quickly explored their surroundings. This is when they found their official lightstick, the newest way to strengthen the offline connection between P1Harmony and P1ece.

The whole concept for the fanmeeting was that P1eces were coming to rescue the members because it’s “Time To Move Out” from the deserted island. For that to happen, the members had to take on some challenges that were dropped onto the stage by the island's lovely “seagulls” (aka staff members).

The first challenge took up almost half an hour, but we got to know the members a little bit more through their eyes. There were several glasses filled with different colored sand on the table, with each color standing for a personality trait. The group’s task was to create a jar filled with the colors they believe matches the other members’ personalities. Although they took it somewhat seriously, they were more amused by the pretty colors. If you are new to the group, one very important thing to take away from this segment is that they are all filled with “comedy obsession.” Make sure to follow them on all their socials to get a real taste of it!

This challenge was followed by the first performance. The “Nemonade” stage brought a funky summer mood to the event, and it earned the guys some fresh coconut water. Theo revealed that he really wanted to try it, but he was quite disappointed by the distinct taste of real coconut—and his reaction was worth streaming in HD. This was followed by a little bonfire-like scene, where the six members played some instruments and had some fun. Then Jiung impressed us with his solo cover of Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” and quickly became every P1eces’ boyfriend. His performance was full of energy and charisma; it really pumped me up.

After that, the next mission was dropped by the seagull. The members had to find and assemble hidden puzzle pieces of a drawing that was created by fans. After this little treasure hunt, the members had to play with their voices as their last mission. It’s a game familiar to all who watch K-Pop content—the task is to just go higher and higher in pitch than the member before you. P1Harmony almost made it through two full rounds, but Jongseob failed and received a penalty that just ended up being a little funny segment where he and Theo played around with helium. This describes the mood for the whole fanmeeting—the whole time it felt like we were casually hanging out with them as they were having fun as young boys should.

Since this was the last mission, they could be reassured that their SOS reached P1ece, and they were on their way to rescue P1Harmony. The sun also started setting in the background—I loved these tiny details behind the storytelling—and the time for more performances arrived.

Keeho and Theo performed a bit more sentimental cover, and Ariana Grande’s “Needy” was a great opportunity for them to showcase their elegant and excellent vocals. The maknae line took this time to prepare something more powerful and energetic—Intak, Soul, and Jongseob covered “Down Bad” by Dreamville, giving them a chance to show their charismatic talents. If I were forced to pick a favorite cover from this event, I might choose this one, although I really enjoyed all of them.

After the sun went down, the members changed back to their boy scout outfits and started talking under the starry sky. After singing “If You Call Me,” the members wrote down some memories and thoughts as their last record on the deserted island. Intak wrote a cute poem, while Theo advised fans not to go, yet he also shared some tips for being on a deserted island. But mostly these messages were about the members creating more memories together. Jiung’s farewell put everyone to sleep and we came full circle to the beginning of the fanmeeting.

Since they finally escaped the deserted island, the members changed back to some more hip outfits and we got two stage performances from their standout B-sides from the mini-album DISHARMONY : BREAK OUT, “Pyramid” and “Reset.” After talking a little about their second fanmeet, they performed their fan-favorite cover of Conan Gray’s “Maniac” before the closing performance of “겁나니 (Scared).”

AFTER TALK

Although the members interacted with fans through the chat here and there, the majority of the talking happened during the After Talk Session that was streamed only for VIP ticket holders. Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob answered some fan questions, like who is the most reliable in an adventurous situation, where Intak chose Keeho for his balance. We also found out that Soul learns a full choreo in as little as three hours, while Theo jokingly added that, for him, it sometimes takes not three but like 38 hours. They also went around and mentioned their favorite nicknames, with Jongseob as Baby Goblin and Soul as “?,” which is perfect! And now that P1eces know that samgyeopsal is a big favorite of the group, I’m sure it’s on everyone’s bucket list for when they visit South Korea.

Of course, some fan questions included requests for more performances, so we got to see a dance mashup of “If You Call Me,” “AYAYA,” and “끝장내 (End It)” before P1Harmony signed off with “Butterfly” and “SIREN.”

This event was a fun opportunity for fans to feel like they spent a cool summer afternoon with their favorites, just like friends hanging out. But I’m sure it also made everyone even more excited for the day they can finally see P1Harmony perform live.
