Title Tracks That Include the Group’s Name

Oftentimes, K-Pop groups will name their songs after their own group name. These songs tend to be great introductions to both the style and concepts we may be seeing later on from the group as well. For this week, let’s take a look at some catchy group name tracks!

ToppDogg

ToppDogg adds a very creative idea to their track “TOPDOG” as they mix together two very contrasting styles: hip-hop and classical music. The intricate layers in this song make it feel complex and is such an energetic song. The most iconic part of the song is the chorus where they shout, “T.O. Double P. D.O. Double G. (TOPPDOGG).” The music video re-creates the story of Mozart and Salieri, particularly from the movie Amadeus, but with a futuristic twist to it as it is full of CGI and unique outfits.

Girls’ Generation

For a sweetness overload, Girls’ Generation will leave you feeling satisfied in this cheerful song. It is such an upbeat song, and it really gave a chance for each member to shine during their verses. During the chorus, Jessica and Taeyeon's powerful voices hit those high notes that really bring this song to another level. The music video has a cute charm to it as you get a glimpse of the members being silly and having lots of fun throughout the video.

BOYFRIEND

BOYFRIEND will have you smiling throughout this song as it is just plain adorable through and through. They went above and beyond with the boyfriend concept, and it is such a feel good song. The music video is equally as light-hearted, filled with cute dances as the members sing about how happy they are to protect you and be your only boyfriend.

SHINee

Although the title of the song “The SHINee World” just includes their name as it is the name of their first album, it feels more like an honorable mention as it is quite an iconic song to the group. It is a synth heavy R&B song that showcases each member’s vocals and skills. At the end, it leads into Minho rapping and introducing each member in between the members saying “Dibidibidis,” making it a distinctive and unforgettable introduction to the group itself.
