Let K-Pop Take You “Home”

Music can bring you great comfort, whether it is the tune or the lyrics. For this Throwback Thursday, we will be taking a listen to these K-Pop songs that will bring you home.

SEVENTEEN - “Home”

SEVENTEEN sings about being your “Home” during this warm song. “Home” brings another light on SEVENTEEN’s various styles, as it focuses more on the emotions and feeling of the message rather than the typical high energy we see in their music videos. The music video is chock full of pleasing visuals and of course the flawless choreography that SEVENTEEN never fails to deliver.

Ailee - “Home”

Ailee gives us another version of “Home” in this sultry R&B tune. Her powerful vocals carry this song, and it is paired with a trap-style beat and heavy bass throughout. Ailee’s “Home” is all about wishing her lover to come home to her. The music video includes dark, sensual colors of black and red that pair seamlessly with the sexiness of the song.

2NE1 - “COME BACK HOME”

“COME BACK HOME” is a distinct song, both visually and vocally. The song combines many genres together (including reggae, pop, trap, and a touch of R&B) and gets more addictive with each listen. The production of this video is over the top as it combines a real world and a dystopian virtual world, where society and Dara’s lover are trapped. The song really captures the cool essence of 2NE1 while bringing us a unique listen.

BTS - “HOME”

BTS brings a cozy beat and light-hearted sound with their track “HOME.” The lyrics on the outside seem to be about luxury and showing off their wealth, but under the surface, it is just a facade of an emptiness that they feel that is healed when they are with their lover, as they then feel like they are “home.” The vocals stand strong in all of their separate verses and the addition of the background vocals throughout tie it together to create a strong song. All of their various performances for “HOME” are quite adorable as they feature the members having fun together in a house as though they are having a pajama party.
