GHOST9 Takes Over New York K-Pop Store for Fansign

A cold Saturday in New York was warmed up by GHOST9 and their fans Ghosties at the group’s first New York fansign at the Mandu Kpop Store.

Fans of GHOST9 from across the country lined up early in the afternoon in front of the glass windows of the Mandu Kpop Store at the Turnstyle Underground Market, a subway mall near Central Park. People passing through the subway mall stopped to watch some of the fans dancing along to songs from GHOST9 and other K-Pop groups while they waited in line.

As it neared 5 p.m. and workers from the store came out to organize the line, fans grew visibly more excited, anxiously looking around for the members. GHOST9 suddenly appeared from the entrance across the store to the screaming shock of fans. The members quickly filed into the store filled with K-Pop albums and merchandise that was now decorated with gold balloons shaped in the group’s name.

As fans entered the store, staff stood at the doorway armed with hand sanitizer and rubber gloves. The members of GHOST9 also stayed safe with their own black face masks and gloves to match their black and white outfits. Even though everyone was wearing masks, it was easy to see the happiness in their eyes as the event went on.

Fans came out of the store staring at their autographed albums, some shaking and nearly in tears, reeling from just having met the members. Even though many of the attendees met each other for the first time that day while waiting in line, they were excited to share their experiences with one another. They excitedly shared that the members complimented their bright hair colors and bold accessories and told them to be careful of the cold.

Those waiting for their turn to meet the members peered inside the store through the glass window while others who were too excited to leave after getting their autographs stayed near the store's open door. Members Woojin, Prince, Junseong, and Kangseong waved and bowed at the fans cheering at the doorway. They also playfully roughhoused with each other as they waited for more fans to make their way down the table for the signing.

The fansigning wrapped up the day for GHOST9, who spent the earlier part of their evening touring famous New York City sites like Times Square and Hudson Yards. It built even more hype around their second tour stop and first concert in the Big Apple. For fans who have supported the group since debut, it was a memorable and emotional weekend.
