Best of January 2022

Our favorite K-Pop acts have kicked off 2022 with a bang! Let’s take a look at some of the best B-sides released in this jam-packed month.

“Before The Dawn” - P1Harmony

A melodic rap ballad co-written by the members, “Before The Dawn ” appears on P1Harmony’s latest mini-album DISHARMONY: FIND OUT. The song quickly became a fan favorite as it took on more mature themes of darkness, childhood, and loneliness all the while sharing a message of hope.

“Lxxk 2 U” - YENA

Paired with its title track, “Lxxk 2 U” by YENA (formerly of IZ*ONE) is a pop-rock anthem. Filled with angsty frustration, the song pays tribute to emo-punk artists like Avril Lavigne and Paramore. The song fleshes out a breakup story with a sense of bittersweetness.

“Subliminal” - BamBam

Returning with a mellower album, BamBam collaborated with R&B singer-songwriter Jimmy Brown on his B-side “Subliminal.” The all-English track is a smooth and sexy R&B jam where BamBam flexes his vocals.

“Letter Filled With Light” - Wheein

A lovely ballad, “Letter Filled with Light” by Wheein is from her first album under Ravi’s The L1VE Label, who also co-wrote the song. The track is a continuation of her song “Springtime” from her mini-album Redd

“The Game” - PENTAGON

Quite possibly one of the most interesting tracks released in K-Pop recently, “The Game ” by PENTAGON is an avant-pop track from their latest album IN:VITE U. The song is filled with literary references, like the popular concert piece “Lascia Ch’io Pianga” and the Spanish novel Rocinante. The track also highlights the members' incredible vocals.
