Brave Girls Send Fans a Love Letter With Their Timely Comeback “Thank You”

On the one-year anniversary of their first music show win for the viral hit “Rollin’,” Brave Girls came back with their sixth mini-album titled THANK YOU.

Their 2017 summer bop “Rollin’” saw the biggest chart reversal last year when the song gained overdue attention and rose to popularity in South Korea four years after the initial release date. “Rollin’” earned the girls the impressive record of highest perfect all-kill for a girl group song with 262 cumulative perfect all-kills across Korean music charts.

The lead single “Thank You” serves as a medium for Brave Girls to express their gratitude towards the fans who made it possible for them to keep thriving as the queens they are today (and have always been!). Lyrics like, “Sometimes I get confused if this is all a dream,” and, “Movie-like things happen,” allude to the girls’ surreal feelings about their sudden rise to fame. It’s no coincidence that this comeback falls on a momentous day of their career—highlighting the miracle that happened to them last year all thanks to the support of their fans, also known as Fearless.

We’ve seen many K-Pop groups release songs dedicated to their fans, but Brave Girls’ version strayed away from the typical ballad-driven genre choice and opted for a groovy city pop sound instead. With an ‘80s retro music video to accompany, Brave Girls gave their sincerest words of appreciation through not only heartwarming lyrics, but a choreography featuring Korean sign language for the phrase “Thank you”.

Brave Girls’ story continues as the group is one of the six acts that will be competing on Mnet’s Queendom 2 set to premiere at the end of this month.
