PURPLE K!SS Makes Anticipated Comeback with “memeM”

Six months following their last comeback, PURPLE K!SS is back again with the powerful title track memeM and third mini-album of the same name. These girls did not come to play with this release! Since the success of “Ponzona” and “Zombie,” this mini-album is a great follow-up that was anticipated well by fans.

“memeM” has powerful techno beats making it a really catchy song. The beats are super addictive, with the different changes in pace keeping you hooked. The raps are definitely among the strongest verses throughout the song, and are balanced well by the equally strong vocals. The girls are excellent at utilizing the best of their vocal ranges to fit the tone of the song. Similar to the style of “Zombie,” there’s a repetition of the lyrics, “mem mem mem,” that is intriguing for listeners.

“memeM” has a darker aesthetic with fitting themes in the music video, featuring flashing lights, futuristic looks, and a complex choreography. The idea of the futuristic look is given to viewers when main rapper Yuki first appears, opening a door to the world where the girls are shown during the introduction of the song. The girls’ style also fits the aesthetic well, with the members wearing darker colored outfits and minimal bright colors. The music video ties into the girls’ first story film, which reveals the members as witches who can easily get into your head, and references the lyrics, “I’m in your head,” in the song.

The album as a whole is absolutely fantastic. Aside from the intro track, all of the girls participated in writing on at least one song. Whether you’ve been a fan since debut or are a new fan, PURPLE K!SS definitely are dominating every comeback!

Be sure to check out the music video for “memeM” and listen to the album as well!
