April Debut Throwback

As we head towards the end of April, let’s take a look at some quite popular groups that made their K-Pop debut in April!

Apink

Apink debuted on April 19, 2011 with their sweet song “I don’t Know.” The tune plays on a romantic sound with strong vocals that are sure to give you chills. The music video introduces Apink with an innocent concept that stuck with them for quite a long time. The members are seen shyly interacting with their crush as well as individual shots of the members in white dresses, looking extremely sweet and ready for their first love.

Block B

Block B made their debut on April 13, 2011 with the song “Freeze!.” This song is an incredibly flashy pop song, with bright vocals and a fresh rap break from ZICO, with his flow and fluffy hair really making him stand out in his first debut. The music video is generous with bright lights, smoky makeup looks, and lots of sparkly outfits, really introducing Block B with their bold swagger that continued into their following comebacks.

EXO

EXO made a groundbreaking debut on April 8, 2012 with their enchanting song “MAMA.” Originally a 12-member group, EXO released “MAMA” with their six membered sub-units EXO-K and EXO-M. The music videos introduced the lore of how the groups came to exist and the special superpowers that each member bears. The song is quite dramatic with its use of an orchestra, chanting, and stunning vocals.

NCT

On April 9, 2016, NCT began their journey with the debut of their sub-unit NCT U and “The 7th Sense.” It is a hip-hop song with a seductive bass and sultry vocals, and is a beautiful backdrop for the performance by the members as they showcase their individual skills with a touch of mystery, almost hinting at what is to come with NCT and their various groups.

Oh My Girl

Oh My Girl shot an arrow through our hearts with their debut “CUPID” on April 21, 2015. This sugary sweet song is as adorable as the members. The tune is a very upbeat pop song with a chanting hook that mixes it up from the cuteness and hints of brass sounds featured throughout. The music video features the members playing cupid as they help people fall in love while being completely adorable in their colorful outfits and showing off their cute charisma.
