New Global Girl Group XG Debuts with Single “Tippy Toes”
A new girl group has debuted with a focus on hip-hop and the girl crush vibe! XG made their grand appearance in the K-Pop scene on March 18, 2022. The seven-member group was formed by agency XGALX, an agency that focuses on global presence and was founded on bold creativity. The emphasis on global is apparent, as the members themselves are Japanese and their debut single “Tippy Toes” is entirely in English. The track has already garnered 6.5 million views on YouTube.
“Tippy Toes” is a hip-hop influenced track with EDM elements in the beat, but most emphasis is placed on the fast-paced rap before the first vocal verse comes in. There is a nice balance between rap and vocals which helps add dimension to the song. It’s a fairly typical catchy hip-hop track, but it is notable that their vocals appear quite strong for a debut group.
The girl crush concept is evident from the moment the video starts, as the first shot has all the girls dressed in suits. Most of the outfits are either black or white, with splashes of color often coming in the makeup on each member. The choreography is sharp and well executed, with shots of it making it appear that performance is one of the strong points for the group. If girl crush is your jam, this single will definitely be right up your alley.
