How I Would Style BamBam For His Next Comeback
As yesterday marked the one year anniversary of his solo debut album riBBon, BamBam has gone on to show his versatility as an artist in terms of music and fashion. Even within GOT7, BamBam is known as the member who pays attention to fashion the most. I thought it would be fun to try and style BamBam for his next comeback.
BamBam’s first music video riBBon showed the colorful, bright side to him–which he shared was a change of concept as fans and his members alike thought his debut track would consist of a stronger beat, similar to GOT7’s “You Calling My Name” concept. His first solo comeback album B consisted of various styles, but “Who Are You” featuring Seulgi from Red Velvet held a darker, contemporary theme and had the black and white visuals to match.
When thinking about how I would style BamBam’s next comeback, his Dazed Korea June 2021 editorial comes to mind. I think that BamBam would do well with a tropical, dancehall sound with hints of Latin elements to it: an album consisting of tracks similar to his song “Subliminal” off of B.
As BamBam has shown interest in both high fashion and streetwear, I think it would be interesting to incorporate both in this sort of concept. To mimic the palm tree dad shirt from the Dazed shoot, I would dress BamBam in the YITAI Spring 2022 Canyon Shirt paired with light colored jean shorts, a.k.a jorts, which are trending at the moment. Although BamBam’s current black mullet-esque hairstyle is one of my favorites, I think that the shaved dyed hair he had before would suit this style.
To dress his looks up but still keep his outfit interesting to look at, I would source Melted Potato jewelry, specifically their necklaces which I think suit BamBam’s aura and would complement his “Kissin’ On My Tattoos” collar tattoo. It would be interesting to see him collaborate with the brand in the future as I feel that BamBam would personally enjoy their accessories and I could see him wearing some as part of his day-to-day.
Alternatively, BamBam has shown before that he can pull off bright colors, and for this type of concept, the brand Outsiders Division would be able to showcase that perfectly. The brand’s Hairy Amigo Trousers would be the one statement piece which would show BamBam’s playful and animal-loving side.
If BamBam were to wear bright primary colored clothes, I think that if the dancers wore items from the brand MOWALOLA, they would complement each other. The Lola Land Tee comes to mind first as well as the brand’s signature Puff Puff Trucker hats.
Overall, BamBam has always explored different fashion points and elements both in his personal life and his professional life, making it known that he likes to experiment with his clothes. Whichever direction he goes for his next release, there’s no doubt that his outfits and concept shoots will go beyond my expectations.
