Crowns Up. Heels Off. “SNEAKERS” On.

Taking the helm as lead track off this mini-album, “SNEAKERS” is all about doing things in their own unique way. ITZY knows that they’re different from the rest and they simply don’t care because they’re doing them. So what if they are seen as a problem or weirdos because they aren’t following what society tells them to? While heels are prim and proper (and a great fashion piece), putting on their sneakers is what's comfortable and more like who they are. When they put their sneakers on, they know they can conquer the world and tackle whatever is headed their way. It’s better to embrace comfort than having to fit into a mold that doesn’t reflect who they are. “SNEAKERS” as a song is catchy, fun, and overall a solid summer-style song.

As ITZY is known for their noise music, “SNEAKERS” isn’t as hard-hitting compared to previous releases where it feels like a large wave coming at you. It’s much more subtle and not as overwhelming right from the get-go, but still makes you vibe and dance around. There are several examples that allude to actual sneakers that are placed through the music video. Forget the heels! It’s all about the sneakers and they’re going to keep running to the top.

For those who are looking for the grittier, hard, and hip-hop/club influenced noisy music that ITZY is known for, the B-sides of the mini-album do well to satisfy that craving. ITZY knows how to bring the club and party bangers, and this album spares no room for rest. Overall, ITZY delivers another great album and it’ll be fun to see how this album will be incorporated into their upcoming first full-fledged world tour and live performances.
