Leo is in a “Losing Game” of Love

Returning with another R&B and ballad-centered EP titled Piano man Op. 9, the ever quiet and illustrious Leo (VIXX) has come out to play with this latest comeback. It comes as no surprise that Leo is going to bring us all something that is sultry and alluring, and his title track “Losing Game” is exactly that–a treat for those who have been missing the singer’s soft vocals.

Tracklist:

  1. “Beautiful Love”

  2. “Losing Game”

  3. “So easy”

  4. “Chilling”

  5. “Blue Rain”

“Losing Game”

Taking the helm as the lead track, “Losing Game” is all about heartbreak and longing after a painful breakup. In this relationship, Leo knows he’s going to lose in the end, as his lover has a hold on his heart and knows they can get away with anything. As much as he begs and pleads for them to stay and be with him, it’s inevitable that he’s going to lose because there simply aren’t any feelings left between them. The song further talks about how it doesn’t matter if his lover continues to leave scars and memories of pain, he’d take it all rather than be apart from them. This extreme type of love and longing is dangerous and torrential, but Leo simply can’t help how he feels and continues to drown in this “Losing Game.” Delving deeper into the song, “Losing Game” is a mellow R&B dance track, with piano instrumentation that is a great nod to the album’s title, Piano man Op. 9

The music video makes great use of the colors red, black, and white—each referring to a different side of Leo and his journey. When he is seen in white, it’s the purest and happiest time when he’s with his lover. Black represents the darkest and most painful, while red is the burning passion and desire. We do get sultry moments of choreography for “Losing Game” as well, and don’t be surprised if you catch yourself blushing here and there. Leo is not his usual “shy” self when it comes to this comeback.

Despite only having a total of five tracks, Leo makes a great return and VIXX fans will be delighted to have a comeback after almost a year. It’s only a matter of time till we see another release from Leo and hopefully VIXX as well.
