P1Harmony on Breaking out of Comfort Zones

Before starting their solo tour with the first stop in LA, P1Harmony took the time to do a press conference Q&A with us and our fellow media colleagues to speak on some subjects of the tour, their music, and much more. When our turn came up, we asked the boys about comfort zones and what had been a positive experience for them when they had chosen to step out on their own.

Jongseob: For me, I’ve been a part of a lot of survival shows, shows that involve competition. So definitely the fact that you have to be out of your comfort zone to be constantly evaluated all of the time on these shows is something I took a big risk for, and I had to really sit down and be like, “You know, let’s just go for it, let’s just try.” And the fact that I was out of my comfort zone helped me try my best and improve. In the first show I was on, I got first place. So once I did step out of my comfort zone, it was a good conclusion, so I don’t have any regrets and I’m very thankful for that experience.

Jiung: My comfort zone when it comes to writing and creating music, I really like to work alone. That’s a comfortable space and time for me. I stepped out of that zone when creating “Follow Me.” Keeho, our main producer, and I all sat together and created the song. It took a lot for me to step out of my comfort zone to create that song, and I now don’t regret it; I feel very happy to be a part of that because I feel that “Follow Me” has been a song that a lot of our fans can come in concert and just really have fun and sing and dance along to. So I’m really glad that it happened the way it did.

Big thanks to Keeho for translating for us!

P1Harmony embarked on their solo world tour on January 20 in LA after officially kicking off the tour in Seoul earlier in the month. They have twelve stops total on this tour across the U.S., so don’t miss the chance to catch this awesome show at a theater near you!
