B-Sides: NCT Dream

On March 28, U.K. NCTzens will see NCT Dream take to the stage of London’s OVO Arena Wembley. So this week, let’s take a look at some of NCT Dream’s great B-side tracks to get you U.K. and international fans excited and hyped-up for their show.

"Replay"

NCT Dream have a real knack for capturing nostalgia in their music, and “Replay,” the sixth track from their second album Glitch Mode, is a great example of this. Listening to the song, fans can hear several nods to ‘90s and ‘00s styles of R&B and hip-hop music throughout its composition and the members' vocal delivery. There are also some really great vocal sections, ad-libs, and harmonizations in "Replay," and an impressive rap section toward the end of the track.

"Bungee"

From their 2021 repackaged album Hello Future, “Bungee” is another one of NCT Dream’s tracks that can deliver feelings of nostalgia. To me, "Bungee" gives off similar vibes to the songs that were released in the U.K. R&B and pop scene in the noughties. It's a great track that effortlessly switches from a laid-back, medium tempo in the verses to a groovy, high-energized vibe in the chorus, instantly making your head and body move along to the beat.

"119"

“119” is the third track from NCT Dream’s third mini-album WE BOOM, and it’s a catchy and upbeat track that will have your head immediately bobbing along to the beat. The arrangement of the chorus carries a similar sound to something you would hear used as a theme song for a TV show for young people. However, the lyrics are far from innocent, being one of NCT Dream’s racier songs, adding itself to NCT’s roster of sensual music.

"Take My Breath"

The fourth track from their 2022 EP Candy - Winter Special Mini Album, “Take My Breath” is a romantic B-side consisting of sweet, loved-up lyrics sung against a smooth and lightly energized pop instrumentation. I personally love the use of an acoustic guitar to open the song before the electronic beats kick in and last throughout the rest of the track. It is a very easy listen and enjoyable track that will have you wanting to listen to more of NCT Dream's songs.
