KINGDOM Dishes on 2023 Goals and Growth Since Debut
Returning to speak with The Kraze after their last interview in 2021, KINGDOM took some time out of their busy schedules during the latest promotions for their comeback “Dystopia” to dish on how they’ve grown in the last two years and future plans. Check it out below!
Q: How would you describe KINGDOM compared to when you first debuted?
LOUIS: The universe of KINGDOM has become even more magnificent, and along with the universe, I think our skills have also greatly improved. In addition, we believe that the overall visuals of the members have been significantly upgraded. It's great to see that KINGDOM's unique color has definitely been more solidified than when we first debuted.
Q: What are you most looking forward to in 2023?
ARTHUR: I hope that there will be more opportunities for us to be known to many audiences around the world!
Q: What are your goals for 2023 as KINGDOM?
MUJIN: It's reaching 100,000 copies in the first-week album sales. I hope this means that we had a year where we can grow even more through our efforts.
Q: What is your favorite part of the process when making your music (recording, music video filming)?
HWON: Personally, I love recording sessions the most. The process of filling a new song with our unique voices is so enjoyable, and it's impressive to see how we complete the song by singing it in various ways.
Q: What is a style of music that you’d like to try next?
JAHAN: I want to challenge myself with hip-hop music. Personally, I want to try an album that solidifies a concept with hip-hop as the main genre.
Q: What songs are currently your most played in your music library?
IVAN: It's the song "My Wave" from our sixth mini-album! It's a great song for this season when it's good to go out and have fun.
Q: What has been your favorite choreography to perform so far?
A: I want to pick the chorus of all our title tracks. Especially, for this album's title track "Dystopia,” there are a lot of sexy and intense feelings in it, so I hope you pay particular attention to that part.
Q: What’s your favorite memory from your debut until now?
M: The most memorable moment was when we celebrated our second debut anniversary with fan meetings in Korea and Japan. We were so happy, it felt like we were dreaming.
Q: If you had to swap identities for a day with one of the members, who would it be?
DANN: I want to switch to HWON and JAHAN, who are the youngest members of KINGDOM. As the eldest member, I'm curious about the innermost thoughts of the maknaes.
