Artist Highlight: NMIXX

After a sold out showcase tour and a refreshing new album, NMIXX, the rookie group from JYP Entertainment, are getting ready to release their third single next month. In case you’re wondering what the group has to offer before their upcoming comeback, I'll help you start!

To start it off hot just the way they did with their debut single “O.O,” at the time, the seven girls were new to the K-Pop industry and made sure they stuck out. Introducing themselves as unique with their mix of electronic and pop-rock music allowed the girls to stand out. While the song received mixed reviews, the music video currently sits at 103 million views, making it their most streamed video. The start of their iconic line “NMIXX” was introduced right from the start, which created a sudden change of tempo meant to shock listeners. If you’re into electro-pop music, “O.O” is the right song for you!

The next song that took people by surprise was “DICE” which was their second single apart from their second EP, ENTWURF. Including their iconic “NMIXX change up,” the seven girls took the opportunity to once again shock their listeners. This was also their final EP with former member Jinni. Another electro pop song from the group brought even more attention to the group. The song currently sits at 107 million streams on spotify making it their second most streamed song. Colorful music videos are a known thing for the group and “DICE” was no different. While staying on brand for their releases, NMIXX makes it so easy to stan.

The last thing I think I can use to loop you in as a fan is their most recent release, their third EP expérgo. I would say this release definitely showed a new and refreshing side from the girls. After transitioning from a seven member group to  six members, the girls showed their professionalism well by proving how fast they can become accustomed to change. My favorite song on the album has changed over time and  happens to be “Love Me Like This,” the lead single of the EP. Incorporating both R&B and pop, the girls have shown a new and refreshing sound. If this is something you’re into, “Love Me Like This” is definitely something for you to check out!

If you’re interested in getting to know NMIXX before the new release, definitely check these songs out! Stream expérgo and keep a lookout for what’s next with the girls!
